Francis C. Santaquilani, right, explains to men’s basketball coach, Larry L. Liddle, his prizewinning logo for the Lakers athletic teams at Purdue University Calumet. The design is a variation of the PUC initials with the last two letters symbolizing Lake Michigan waves. A freelance artist from Hebron, Indiana, Santaquilani was judged the winning entrant in a contest to select a new emblem at the Hammond campus.
