Scope and Contents
The Computer Technology Department collection contains official records of the department from its existence (1964-1977) in eight series: SERIES I: ADMINISTRATIVE RECORDS, 1965-1974 Series I contains the Administrative records that were created or kept by the department. Items include notes on the creation of the department, minutes and records of Departmental and Staff meetings, correspondence, memoranda, an Operations Review, the 1973 Annual Report, and the proposal to merge with the Computer Sciences program. In addition, this series includes materials kept by the Department Administrator such as their comparison notes with the Programming Systems Institute in Hammond, Indiana, the Computer Operated proposal for an automated Mailing List records, and promotional materials. SERIES II: FACULTY AND STAFF RECORDS, 1966-1975 Series II contains administrative records pertaining to the faculty and staff of the Computer Technology Department. Items include memoranda, correspondence, reports, pamphlets, and notes regarding the needs of the faculty, FTE (Full Time Equivalent) policies and changes, academic advising duties, and department head searches. SERIES III: STUDENT RECORDS, 1963-1974 Series III contains the lists, rosters, reports, studies, and questionnaires that deal with the students of the Computer Technology Department. SERIES IV: COURSE SCHEDULING, 1963-1972 Series IV contains memoranda, notes, and correspondence regarding the staff assignments, schedules, enrollment reports, and course offerings for the Computer Technology Deparment. SERIES V: COURSE AND PROGRAM RECORDS, 1963-1975 Series V contains the administrative records regarding the accreditation, changes, revisions, and additions to courses, curricula, and programs within the Computer Technology Department. Items include memoranda, correspondence, reports, schedules, proposals, and notes. SERIES VI: EQUIPMENT RECORDS, 1963-1976 Series VI contains the quotations, memoranda, proposals, correspondence, advertisements, and records regarding the technological equipment purchased, used, and maintained by the Computer Technology Department. SERIES VII: COMPUTER CENTER, 1966-1969 Series VII contains the records of the establishment of the Computer Center within in the Computer Technology Department. Items include the various proposals for the Center and its final proposal, the center’s financial records, order forms for products, inventory and manpower reports, and promotional materials. SERIES VIII: PROPOSALS AND TITLE GRANTS, 1965-1967 Series VIII contains the titles purchased for products and proposals for gaining equipment in the Computer Technology Department. This series includes Title VII and Title VII proposals for various IBM products and the Wright Line Storage Unit.
