From the Collection:

The Facilities Services collection dates from 1951 to 2002 in 4.58 linear feet. The collection contains space inventory reports, office and space assignments, status reports, space utilization assignments, memorandums, correspondence, building schedules, campus maps, articles, and information on special projects. In addition, the collection has nine series that house the records of Purdue University Calumet campus buildings: SERIES I:  ANDREY A. POTTER LAB BUILDING, 1965-1984                 Series I contains the plans, assessments, remodeling, and naming ceremony records for the Andrey A. Potter Lab Building, formerly known as the Electrical Engineering Technology Building. Items include: building plans and drawings, assessments, reports, specifications, invitations, programs, correspondence, project plans, floor plans, and news releases. SERIES II: GYTE ANNEX, 1954-1983                 Series II contains the remodeling records of the Gyte Annex from 1982. Items include: correspondence, project descriptions, floor plans, and newspaper clippings. SERIES III: STUDENT UNION AND LIBRARY BUILDING, 1967-1999                 Series IV contains information regarding the maintenance of the building, records of the Hammond City Hall Doors kept on the first floor of the building, and proposed remodeling designs of the library. The Student Union and Library Building has formerly been known as the Student Faculty Library Center. Items include: the Student-Faculty Center Planning Committee Initial Report, the Furnishing Advisory Committee for the Student Library Building binder, memoranda, floor plans, addition plans for the Room with a View, newspaper articles about the Hammond City Hall Doors, dedication information about the Hammond City Hall Doors, and blueprints and layouts of the library remodeling plans. The Rubbing of Bronze Plaque commemorating the Hammond City Hall Doors, the oversize documents from the Furnishing Advisory Committee for the Student Library Building binder, and the Student Faculty Library Center Blueprints and Layouts are oversize and housed in Clamshell Drawer 2. Student-Faculty Center Planning Committee Initial Report, 1967 SERIES IV: FITNESS AND RECREATION CENTER, 1954-1990                 Series V contains the groundbreaking ceremony records, dedication ceremony records, Dedication Plaque records, program statements, schematic plans, budget information of the Fitness and Recreation Center, formerly known as the Physical Education/Recreation Building. Items include: memorandums, correspondence, notes, newspaper articles, project plans, budget, sketches, blueprints, floor plans, photographs, and news releases.                 The sketches and blueprints of the Fitness and Recreation Center are oversize and are housed in Clamshell Drawer 2. SERIES V: GENE STRATTON PORTER HALL, 1964-2000                 Series VI contains the records of Purdue University Calumet’s purchase of Gene Stratton Porter Elementary School and the remodeling plans of Porter Hall. Items include: correspondence, appraisals of Porter School, utilization proposals, lease agreement, newspaper articles, a site plan of Porter School, reports, Open House information, and floor plans.                 The Site Plan of Porter School is oversize and is housed in Clamshell Drawer 2. SERIES VI: DONALD S. POWERS COMPUTER EDUCATION BUILDING, 1981-1992                 Series VII contains memoranda, groundbreaking ceremony records, a lab equipment proposal,  flyers, booklets, floor plans, news releases, and newspaper clippings. SERIES VII: EDWARD D. ANDERSON BUILDING, 1967-1997                 Series VIII contains early records of the Anderson building’s construction and later records of its remodeling and updates.                 Items include: dedication ceremony records, memoranda, an information pamphlet about the building, floor plans, reconstruction plans, photographs, news releases, and newspaper clippings. SERIES VIII: C. H. LAWSHE HALL, 1970-1990                 Series IX contains mostly records from Lawshe Hall after its dedication ceremony. C. H. Lawshe Hall was known as the Classroom Office Building prior to 1981.                 Items include: space allocations, the naming ceremony budget, dedication ceremony records, memoranda, floor plans, news releases, and newspaper clippings. SERIES IX: MILLARD E. GYTE SCIENCE BUILDING, 1950-2002                 Series X contains construction records and materials relating to the composition of the Gyte Science building.                 Items include: a rubbing to the sign for the building, building specifications, planning and development records, open house information, building dedication speech, floor plans, news releases, and newspaper clippings.                 The Rubbing of Gyte Building Sign is oversize and located in Clamshell Drawer 2.
