The Purdue University Calumet Commencement records collection primarily contains the Commencement Planning Books from 1969 to 1989 and the Commencement Programs from 1950 to present. In addition, the collection contains Annual Alumni Graduation Dinner programs, commencement programs from the Professional Foremanship and Purdue-Inland Training programs, Commencement Announcements, Recognition Program Announcements, rental of academic regalia forms, timetables for Commencement Exercises, commencement speeches, and invitation to commencement, record from the Commencement Committee, memoranda, notes and correspondence on Commencement News, newspaper clippings, and Graduate Candidate Lists.

Biographical or Historical Information

Purdue University Calumet (at its inception, referred to as Hammond Technical Institute; later, Purdue University Calumet Center) held different commencements for its programs such as, Professional Foremanship and the Purdue-Inland Training Plan. All commencement exercises were held at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana until May 1967. Post 1966, all commencements were held in Hammond, Indiana. Purdue University Calumet has held both annual and bi-annual commencement exercises since the 1970s.
