North Central Association Accreditation
Scope and Contents
The North Central Association Accreditation collection dates from 1968 to 1996 in 5.625 linear feet and contains the 1968, 1972, 1982, 1992, and 1996 Purdue University Calumet Self-Study Reports for the North Central Association. The collection also includes records from the 1982 and 1992 Self-Study Reports in two series: SERIES I: 1982 REVIEW RECORDS, 1980-1983 Series I contains records from Purdue University Calumet for the preparation and evaluation of the 1982 Self-Study Report. This series contains the Staff Full Time Equivalent (FTE) Information binder, records from Task Forces on Research, Community Services, Planning and Evaluation, University Organization, Students, Educational Systems, and Resources. The series also contains the Resources used for supporting the Self-Study Report. Lastly, the series contains the 1982 report, Purdue University Calumet Self-Study for the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Institutions of Higher Education, the Steering Committee’s post-report records, and the records from the Evaluation Team’s visit. SERIES II: 1992 REVIEW RECORDS, 1991-1993 Series II contains records from Purdue University Calumet for the preparation and evaluation of the 1992 Self-Study Report. This series includes the Steering Committee’s papers, records from the Task Forces on Criterion and Student Retention, Alumni Surveys, the Upward Bound program proposal, and Basic Institutional Data forms. The bulk of this series includes the Resources used for supporting the Self-Study Report. Lastly, the series contains drafts of the 1992 report, Self-Study Report prepared for the North Central Association’s Commission on Institutions of Higher Education, a Library File of the Self-Study Report, materials used by the Evaluation Team, and an overview of the North Central Association’s Findings and Process.

Biographical or Historical Information
The North Central Association is a membership organization of colleges and schools in nineteen states. Two independent corporations, the Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (CASI) and The Higher Learning Commission hold membership in the North Central Association and hold legal authority to conduct accrediting activities for educational organizations.
Purdue University Calumet received its first North Central Association Accreditation through The Higher Learning Commission in 1968. Subsequently, the University is revisited every ten years for reaccreditation.
