Biographical or Historical Information
The Lecture and Assembly Committee is a Subordinate Committee of the University Senate’s Standing Committee, Student Affairs. However, the Lecture and Assembly Committee has been referred to as a “Committee,” rather than a “Sub-Committee” in all its records.
The Lecture and Assembly Committee consists of five faculty members appointed by the University Senate (also known as the Faculty Senate, formerly known as the Council of Faculty Delegates) and two student members appointed by Student Government. The purpose of the Lecture and Assembly Committee is to plan activities for the future and to coordinate the execution of such plans. In addition, the Committee strives to encourage, coordinate, initiate, present, and sponsor cultural events and activities appropriate and desirable for a University community.
