Scope and Contents
The Scholarship Committee collection contains the by-laws of the Committee, a proposal for the Guidelines in the Committee, annual reports, minutes, memoranda, correspondence, nominations for Outstanding Student Award, recommendations for Scholarships, Honor’s Day, and Honors Students, and records from the 1968 Convocation of the Calumet.

Biographical or Historical Information
The Scholarship Committee was a subordinate committee of the Purdue University Calumet Advisory Committee, which was a former name for the Faculty Senate (University Senate). The purpose of the Scholarship Committee was to promote and encourage the interest of the student body in scholastic and academic excellence by assisting in the selection of student for scholarships, choosing the Outstanding Student Award for Honor’s Day, reviewing qualifications and needs of students who apply for loans, ascertaining which students should be included on the Dean’s List, endeavoring to explore new means for promoting scholastic achievement at Purdue University Calumet, and working with the Student Council to encourage scholarship.
