Biographical or Historical Information
In response to the Mission Study Report of April 1977, the Facility Planning Committee for Proposed Auditorium was formed to research and write a proposal for an auditorium for the Purdue University Calumet campus. The Committee argued that the construction of an auditorium at Purdue University Calumet would help develop academic programs, unify and enhance the surrounding community, promote activities, develop physical facilities on campus, promote an understanding and appreciation of diversity, and engage in cooperative action with the community to meet the needs of the area. The Committee submitted its proposal in the spring of 1980. However, due to lack of funding, the campus was unable to support the construction.
