Scope and Contents
The School of Basic and Applied Sciences collection dates from 1970 to 1979 in 1.875 linear feet in two series: SERIES I: ADMINISTRATIVE RECORDS, 1974-1978 Series I contains the records of the School of Basic and Applied Sciences from its inception including the caucus records drafting the school, proposed and final drafts of the School's constitution and bylaws, convocation of the faculty of SBAS meeting records, agenda, minutes, and documents from the Senate of SBAS, memoranda, master lists of courses with corrections, degree candidates, brochures, and annual reports. In addition, this series contains the records of committees that were part of the SBAS Senate including, the Mission Study Committee, the Internal Affairs Committee, the Resources and Planning Committee, the Grants Committee, and the Curriculum Committee. Lastly, Series I contains the records indicating the termination of SBAS and the formation of two new schools. SERIES II: DEAN RICHARD L. GONZALES’ PAPERS, 1971-1980 Series II contains the papers that Richard L. Gonzales kept while he was the dean of the School of Basic and Applied Sciences. This series contains a variety of records such as memoranda, correspondence, proposals, papers, data, reports, and news releases that were kept to assist Gonzales’ administrative duties.
